Feeling Down
See a Doctor nowGastritis
Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining and is caused by a weakness of the mucus lined barrier that protects your stomach wall, allowing digestive juices to damage the lining of your stomach. It can result from a number of different factors; diseases such as Crohn’s disease or sarcoidosis, excessive alcohol use, old age, the use of pain relief or from bacterial infection. The signs to look out for include, a burning pain in your upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting or a feeling of fullness in your upper abdomen after eating. It is important to book a consultation with your videoDoc doctor if your symptoms are continuing for a week or longer. Stomach issues can be an indication of more serious health problems so it is best to speak with your GP if you have any concerns about your digestive health.
